All you have to do is tell them you are available to assist them because you know what they’re going through and can help them out. After, let them make the next move. Don’t be too insistent. Accepting or rejecting your offer is up to them to decide. If they do take you up on your offer, there’s a good chance you’ll be part of the inner circle before you know it.
Don’t worry about talking to or interacting with them at this stage, just use the time to familiarize yourself with them. You should start participating in the groups and communities that form around these people–join in on blog posts, in group discussions, etc. You do not want to be the person who only knows their name and not what they are about. We mean that you should choose one of their ideas and then try to take it even further that it has already been taken. Or you can start with something they’ve accomplished and see if you can’t spin it in your own way. Most of the time people like knowing that they have created something that have inspired someone to make something as well. As long as you are not blatantly stealing from them, you will only garner favorable attention from the big wigs in your field. They may even start telling their own followers about you and whatever it is that you need to offer.
